BibTeX - Creating Personal Bibliographies

This article presents a style-independent bibliography format and corresponding reference management software BibTeX. Although BibTeX is heavily used with document preparation system LaTeX, there is a free reference JabRef. This software enables citation in a MS Word or OpenOffice document of references from external BibTeX database.
